The Latest from JVC
JVC representatives will tell you about the new JVC SR-HD1500 and SR-HD1250 Blu-ray Recorders that feature a built-in Blu-ray recorder and an internal hard disk drive for easy duplication and disc authoring without a PC.

JVC will also talk about new state-of-the-art monitors, and their popular solid-state cameras. The JVC GY-HM100 hand-held and GY-HM700 shoulder mounted cameras will be there for you to test out.

Avast Ye Landlubbers! We just caught wind that it is clear sailing for Mike Bjac and Dave Bauers to talk about DVD piracy issues at the next port (meeting). If any amongst our crew has heard any scuttlebutt on the subject and would care to share your tale, let Captain John Lister know.

In addition to the main presentation, there are two components of PVN meetings that always stimulate: The "For Sale" table and the "Bring and Brag" segment. The first offers bargains that are hard to pass up. The latter offers inspiration for enhancing your skills. There's a lot to love!

Future Programs

This week's PVN Board meeting focused on lining up excellent meeting programs for 2010. With one great idea after another coming from the Board members, our new President, John Lister, put together a tentative program calendar through May that is sure to please. The subjects are aimed at helping us all expand our skill and creativity while we enjoy practicing our craft.

March Meeting
Lighting for Interviews | Lighting for Green Screen
Lighting expert, Bill Holshevnikoff, will give a presentation on lighting for green screen and interview lighting at our March meeting. Our talk will be free of charge but there is a fee for the bigger seminar he is doing the next day at OC Soundstage (our meeting room). Larry Goldsmith has the details on that seminar and suggests that we could drum up some attendees for him between PVN, MCAI, MAOC & OCMMA.

As other presenters confirm, we will publish that schedule so you will know what fun you have in store.

January Recap

The January meeting was filled with information about the latest offerings from Samy's Camera. After Robert Morrissey's presentation questions came from everywhere and answers came flying back. No one could stump him!

John Lister introduced some of the Board members for 2010 and everyone sent their best wishes to Petr and Jennifer as they face her health challenges.
