Professional Videographers Network

Next PVN Meeting: Wednesday - May 12, 2010 ---- 6:30 pm

The May Program

Pro Basics & Beyond

Alec Moreno will coordinate a new, brief segment of most PVN meeting programs entitled, Pro Basics & Beyond. Someone will prepare a, "This is How the Pro's I Know Do It" on a subject central to what we do. The presenter will then invite the attendees to chime in with their tips and related stories. This promises to be a method for our members to pick up pointers they might never hear about otherwise. The series will discuss and demonstrate techniques that make the difference in the professionalism of a video project. Shooting techniques, microphone basics, and, of course, lighting in various situations will be among the topics covered in the series. Normally, the Pro Basics & Beyond will be the minor part of the program but to introduce the concept, Alec has lined up presentations on these fundamentally important topics: 1) Project Checklists; 2) Building a Gig Bag (Survival Kit); and 3) Pre-Event Site Surveys.

In addition to the main presentations, there are two components of PVN meetings that always stimulate: The "For Sale" table and the "Bring and Brag" segment. The first offers bargains that are hard to pass up. The latter offers inspiration for enhancing your skills. There's a lot to love!

We look forward to seeing you there.
