The August Program

Feature Presentation

remote control helicopter videographyThis month we are going to see a truly innovative method of bringing exciting and creative footage to our video productions. Rob Moscato and Chris Cloutier, from f-Stop Aerial Video will show us a demo reel of HD video shot from a variety of aerial platforms, all of which are radio controlled models. They are able to provide shots that would be impossible, not to mention unaffordable, by any other method. This is a perfect way to get footage of venues, sporting events, concerts or almost anything else outside. Their high-tech helicopters have GPS and flight stabilization systems to provide accurate placement on a stable platform. Video transmitters send signals back to monitors and servos specially designed for cameras pan and tilt as well as zoom.

Cameras range from Contour and GoPro mini HD cameras to Canon 5D and 7Ds for the ultimate in production quality. Come see their demo reel and check out the extremely sophisticated aerial equipment!

Pro Basics & Beyond

For this month's Pro Basics And Beyond, we'll be featuring two segments:

On-Camera Lighting TechniquesOn-Camera-Lighting Techniques

For the first segment, we're asking EVERYONE to bring their on-camera light to the meeting. The plan is for each person to tell about and show what they use, and to offer any advice they have on basic lighting techniques. John Lister will moderate this topic.

    Camera-In-Motion Techniques

For the second segment, Alec Moreno will demonstrate his camera techniques and lead a discussion on this topic. Please bring your camera and favorite stabilizers to both practice and share with the group.

In addition to the main presentations, there are two components of PVN meetings that always stimulate: The "For Sale" table and the "Bring and Brag" segment. The first offers bargains that are hard to pass up. The latter offers inspiration for enhancing your skills. There's a lot to love!

We look forward to seeing you there.
